Starboard is stepping up its wave and freestyle program and we have merged the best of both worlds to introduce the Trance 84. The Trance 84 is a compact and short ultra modern Wave/Freestyle board. With quicker acceleration and better upwind tracking than a wave board due to its flattened middle rocker, it's especially well suited for onshore conditions. The board spins, pops and jumps better, and turns like if it was on rails. It gives extra good projection in off the lip action. The wide fat nose with a deep single channel helps tracking nose manoeuvres. The Trance 84 is a well balanced board which makes it easier to pull off the most radical moves.

The design brief for the Trance 84 was to build on our best medium sized wave board and make it more suitable for freestyle moves and onshore conditions. We shortened the nose and made it a bit thicker to keep enough volume for nose manouvers. The mid section rocker was flattened to encourage better acceleration and onshore drive. The rails aft were redesigned to be more tucked under driving the board better through turns. The 84 gives a compact responsive feel with plenty of speed.
