The World Champion Sonic range has remained unchallenged as the benchmark for production slalom boards over recent years, offering definitive performance exceeding even handmade custom slalom boards and outstanding success at the Production Board Worlds.
- Continuing the development for 2003, the new Sonic 85 and 95 are the enhancement of proven race winning outlines and rocker profiles. Whilst not offering the same overall performance range as Hypersonic, the new Sonics provide exhilaration with a scalpel sharp efficiency that's addictive to experienced speedsters.
Fundamental to the improved designs are reduced length and forward swing weight, blended with 45 degree bevel rails and modified entry section to noticeably improve handling, control and responsiveness in the nose, which results in improved rideability and confidence in powered and choppy conditions.
Tested relentlessly on Maui by Starboard test pilot Ian Fox and Maui race series winner Jesper Orth, the 2003 evolution 85 and 95 deliver extra freedom in rough water and allow a more committed "power-on" ride with higher top end speed potential in demanding conditions.
