- When Starboard introduced the Carve range 4 years ago, it set the trend for current Freeride boards. Now 6 brand new shapes for 2003 retain that legendary control, easy jibing, early planing and upwind performance.
- The tail section of the new boards is more curved and tucked-under to allow for extra turn-ability and jibe initiation, creating shapes equally happy with fast drawn-out jibes or short, slashy turns. Special attention is paid to refining the complex rail shape to a slightly rounder, extra forgiving profile. The CarveÕs original 45-degree rails, now seen in several other models, provide a secure, confident tucked under feel, combined with a fast and clean release. Just perfect for Freeride blasting.
Increased double concaves in the tail and nose delivers a higher and faster straight line ride, whilst in the turns these concaves actually enhance rail tracking, allowing extra biting-style jibes, with added "spring-back" and faster exit speeds.
The 2003 models are shorter than ever, giving even more of the compact ride feel appreciated in previous designs. All Carves feature inboard footstrap inserts for more control and easier jibing set up, and outboard inserts for more speed and slalom oriented tuning.
The 2003 Carve range is the world's largest and most versatile line up of high performance freeride boards, with an ideal model for everybody and every condition. Check your local sailing conditions, select your CARVE and get set for the time of your life on the water.
