Juan of the Fastest..

When Columbian Juan Pablo Montoya stepped from his car after this years Monaco Grand Prix, he had a bigger than usual grin on his face.

In front of a capacity crowd, he'd just piloted his BMW-Williams car through the narrow confines and barricaded streets of the principality at peak speeds of 300 KPH to win the season's most prestigious F1 event from his strongest rivals ; current F1 World Championship points leader, Finland's Kimi Raikkonen and reigning World Champion, Michael Schumacher.

Not just your average Sunday ride.

So what does this previous Indy 500 and Cart FedEx Champion do for thrills on his weekends off ?? - Juan still satisfies his need for speed, but in a quieter manner; Windsurfing.

Race one of the F1 season saw Juan Pablo and his beautiful wife Connie visiting Melbourne, Australia. Finished with "business" on the Sunday (and a very respectable second place), Juan turned his attention to the water, and along with some of the BMW-Williams Team, made good use of the Australian beaches and local hospitality to get down to some serious "testing" of another kind.

Without hesitation, Juan wanted to push the limits on the fastest gear, and knew that he wanted to test the hottest Starboards he'd heard about. Formula boards were "fast", but they were also pretty calm by his standards. Carve 131 was fun and user friendly, but didn't fascinate him in the same way as the speed and range of the revolutionary new HyperSonic shape.

What he wanted was a fast board to keep him on "pole position" in the light conditions back home in Miami - and Starboard had just the answer in the innovative HyperSonic 125. Juan was impressed. He wanted one. And fast.

Test rides over, it was on to Malaysia for the next GP, but not before finalizing his order for a HyperSonic 125 and a new GO165 for Connie to be waiting for him when he arrived back home in Florida.

Starboard is proud to be the selected as the board of choice by one of the fastest racers in the World.

Congratulations Juan Pablo, and thanks for riding with us.
